Japan (Kyoto): The Last Temple.

Toji temple is made of three big buildings.
The first one is the famous multistorey temple
that contributes to Kyoto's skyline.

Two other buildings host a good amount
of sculptures of Buddha and other deities.

The inside of the red building is the most interesting.
About 20 huge sculptures are placed on a platform facing south.
The biggest sculpture at the center is a golden Buddha
about 20 feet high.
It is surrounded by 4 smaller Buddhas
which are themselved escorted by other deities.

The whole set up is supposed to be
a 3D representation of a mandala.

After a frantic Sega Disk Game
in one of the numerous Kawaramachi's arcades
we stopped for tea at the "Eleve Coffee Plaza" on Shoji dori
which looked like a man-only club
with burgundy lacker on the walls,
very comfortable 70's fake black leather chairs
and Stars Warsish, op art silver wall paper on the ceiling.

There is a big fish market in an alley parallel to Shoji dori.
Walking there reminded me of a Zen garden visit.

Many Japanese people of all age
carry a small towell all the time.

For technical reasons we could not connect to the Net from Kyoto.
